Setup
Stand a short step back from a box you can land on with confidence — start lower than you think.
How to do it
- Dip, swing the arms, and jump with full intent.
- Land QUIETLY on the whole foot in a partial squat — soft knees, chest up.
- Stand tall on the box before stepping (never jumping) back down.
- Full rest between reps — this is power work, not conditioning.
Common mistakes
- Chasing box height by tucking the knees to the chest (the jump is the same, the landing is worse).
- Landing stiff-legged or with knees caving in.
- Rebounding off the floor after jumping down.
Scale it
Easier: Lower box, or practice jump-and-stick on flat ground.
Harder: A moderately higher box with perfect landings, or single-leg step-down between reps.
