Cable Chest Press

Pressing against constant cable tension — keeps the chest loaded through the full range, easy on the shoulder since the angle is adjustable.

Setup

Set both pulleys to chest height (or slightly below for more incline emphasis). Stand or split stance in the middle, one handle in each hand at chest level.

How to do it

  1. Press both handles forward until arms are extended.
  2. Squeeze the chest briefly at full extension.
  3. Return slowly, letting the elbows drift back to chest level without pulling the shoulders forward.
  4. Keep a slight forward lean and braced core throughout.

Common mistakes

Scale it

Easier: Lighter weight, half kneeling for more stability.

Harder: Single-arm version for added core and stability demand.
