📥 Import Your Training History
Fit-PA learns from your training history to provide personalized insights. The more data you share, the better we can help you on your fitness journey.
Why Your History Matters
Your AI coach and analytics aren't just looking at today's workout - they're analyzing patterns across weeks and months of training. With more historical data, Fit-PA can:
- Understand your fitness level - Accurate CTL/ATL/TSB requires weeks of training data
- Spot meaningful trends - See how your pace, power, and heart rate have evolved
- Provide smarter recommendations - Your AI coach knows what's worked for you before
- Track personal records - All your best efforts, not just recent ones
- Give context to your progress - Compare today's performance to where you were 6 months ago
Step 1: Connect Your Device
The easiest way to get started is connecting your fitness device for automatic syncing:
- Go to Profile → Connected Devices
- Click Connect for your device (Garmin, Coros, Polar, or Suunto)
- Authorize Fit-PA to access your data
- Your recent activities will begin importing automatically
Once connected, all future activities sync automatically - you won't have to think about it again.
Step 2: Export Your Historical Data
Device connections typically import the last 90 days. To get your full training history, request a bulk data export from your device provider. Each platform lets you download all your activities at once:
Garmin Connect
- Log in to Garmin Connect
- Click Manage Your Data (under Account Settings)
- Select Export Your Data
- Choose Request Data Export
- Garmin will email you a download link when ready (usually within a few hours)
- Download and extract the ZIP file - your FIT files are in the Activities folder
Coros
- Log in to training.coros.com
- Click your profile icon → Settings
- Select Export Data
- Enter your email address and select FIT as the format
- Click Submit
- Coros will email you a download link when ready
- Download and extract the ZIP file containing all your FIT files
Suunto
- Log in to the Suunto App (web version)
- Go to your profile settings
- Look for Privacy or Data Export options
- Request your data export - Suunto will email you when ready
- Extract the downloaded archive - FIT files are included
Polar Flow
- Log in to flow.polar.com
- Go to your profile (top right) → Account Settings
- Scroll to Export Your Data section
- Click Start Export
- Polar will email you a download link when ready
- Extract the archive - training data includes FIT-compatible files
💡 Note: Bulk exports can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours depending on how much data you have. You'll receive an email when your download is ready.
Step 3: Upload to Fit-PA
- Go to Activities → Add → Upload FIT Files
- Drag and drop your FIT files (you can select many at once)
- Wait for processing to complete
Fit-PA automatically detects duplicates, so don't worry if some files overlap with what's already synced.
How Much Data Do I Need?
Any data is better than no data, but here's what different amounts unlock:
| History |
What You Get |
| 1-2 weeks |
Basic activity tracking, initial fitness estimates |
| 6-8 weeks |
Reliable training load metrics (CTL/ATL/TSB) |
| 3-6 months |
Meaningful trend analysis, good AI coaching context |
| 1+ years |
Year-over-year comparisons, seasonal pattern recognition, comprehensive PRs |
Don't Have Historical Data?
That's completely fine! Just connect your device and start training. Your analytics will become more accurate over the first 6-8 weeks as data accumulates. Every athlete starts somewhere.
💡 Tip: Even if you only have a few months of data, upload it! Your AI coach will immediately start providing more personalized guidance, and your training load metrics will stabilize faster.
